The Sailmate S‑P20Z by Sakura‑Stitch has become a leading choice in the marine trimming and boating industry. Designed for boat owners, hobbyists and small businesses, the Sailmate is suitable for medium to heavy‑weight sewing tasks. It delivers stitch quality comparable to an industrial machine and can sew up to eight layers of Sunbrella Plus. With both top and bottom feeding, it produces an even, consistent stitch across challenging materials.

As a heavy‑duty, portable walking‑foot machine capable of both straight and zig‑zag stitching, it is commonly purchased by boat owners. The machine is highly versatile, able to sew anything from jean hems to heavy canvas, and is suitable for upholstery fabric, vinyl, sailcloth and light leather. For portability, the machine is supplied in a wooden carry case with a drop‑down work platform.

Factory installation of a large, solid‑steel handwheel provides increased torque and greater control, while also allowing the machine to be operated by hand when power is unavailable. With a 10 mm foot lift, 6 mm maximum stitch length and 5 mm maximum zig‑zag width, the machine accommodates a wide range of sewing tasks. Adjustable needle positioning (centre, left and right) enables straightforward zip insertion.
